Center of Excellence by Florida A&M University-Florida State University (FAMU-FSU) and the University of Florida (UF) with AFOSR and AFRL/RQ/RW/RX.
Objective:
- Conduct fundamental research that transforms conventional distributed sensing, state estimation, actuation, and control to advance high-speed morphing vehicles.
- Create an integrated Sense, Assess, and Response (SAR) framework that connects:
- Information theory
- Physical reservoir computing (PRC)
- Physics-based models
- Sensors for high-speed environments
- Morphing Structures
- Control
- Experimental aerodynamics
- Collaborate with AFRL-RQ, RX, RW
- Workforce development (SMART Scholarships, SFFP, NRC Postdocs, AFRL Scholars, Training Courses, workshops, etc.)
- Joint projects with AFRL Lab
