AEROMORPH

Aerospace Morphing via

Integrated

Sense, Assess, and Respond

Center of Excellence by Florida A&M University-Florida State University (FAMU-FSU) and the University of Florida (UF) with AFOSR and AFRL/RQ/RW/RX.
Objective:
  • Conduct fundamental research that transforms conventional distributed sensing, state estimation, actuation, and control to advance high-speed morphing vehicles.
  • Create an integrated Sense, Assess, and Response (SAR) framework that connects:
    • Information theory
    • Physical reservoir computing (PRC)
    • Physics-based models
    • Sensors for high-speed environments
    • Morphing Structures
    • Control
    • Experimental aerodynamics
  • Collaborate with AFRL-RQ, RX, RW
    • Workforce development (SMART Scholarships, SFFP, NRC Postdocs, AFRL Scholars, Training Courses, workshops, etc.)
    • Joint projects with AFRL Lab
